GAA Basketball announces try-out dates for the Gwinnett Basketball League ("GBL") Travel Basketball Team.  The Grayson GBL Travel League Basketball program is a highly competitive youth basketball program affiliated with the Gwinnett Basketball League. The Grayson GBL Travel program strives to develop boys and girls in the 4th-7th grades with advanced basketball skills to compete against the GBL programs from other Gwinnett School Clusters.  4th Graders are eligible to play on the 5th Grade team if selected by the coach.  All players must tryout for their grade team. These teams are selected through open try-outs and managed to prepare players for more advanced competition in the future. There is no guaranteed playing time rules in GBL as the teams are competitively coached similar to Middle School and High School Teams.

Players interested in playing on a GBL Team should be willing to commit to a more intense practice and game schedule than the REC League. To be eligible to play on a Grayson GBL team, a player must be currently enrolled in a Grayson Cluster school or if attending a private school must live within the geographic boundaries of the Grayson Cluster.  Grayson GBL Teams will normally practice twice a week and play two games a weekend (one on Saturday and one on Sunday) at local High School Gyms in Gwinnett County or at the Suwanee Sports Academy.  The cost of GBL Basketball is $275 for each player plus an additional $75 uniform fee and will be due shortly after the team has be selected.  Scholarships are not available for GBL as the GAA REC League provides an alternative for all players.  The registration fee includes GBL team fees, gym rental and referees.  If you prefer the GAA Basketball REC League, registration will open on 9/15 at a lower registration fee and runs through October 22nd.

For planning purposes for GBL tryouts, Interested players should pre-register (Name, Grade, and Contact Information) using the link below or at the Basketball-GBL tab located at   www.gaasports.org.  Fees are not due until the team has been selected.
